Twitteratis make fun of Imran Khan getting married for the third time

Former Pakistan World Cup-winning skipper Imran Khan has got married for the third time in his life with a spiritual guide Bushra Maneka in the city of Lahore.

Cricketer-turned-politician Imran has tied the knot on February 18. However, Pakistan media confirmed his marriage with a ‘faith healer’. Both got married in a low-key ceremony.

Imran-led Pakistan team to glory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup. His first marriage was with the British socialite Jemima Khan. It further engaged a lot of media involvement owing conservative country like Pakistan. The marriage lasted for nine years.

The former captain Imran also married the former BBC journalist Reham Khan in the past. However, the marriage lasted just nine months.

Ever since Imran’s political party Pakistan Tehreek E-Insaf (PTI) made the news official, the third marriage has attracted a lot of criticism.

The Twitteratis from neighbouring countries like Pakistan and India also took the center stage.

“Marriage is the combination of two hearts and two souls, which join each other on this special day of your wedding. Wishing you two a very happy and blessed married life!” PTI Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry tweets.

“To set the record straight, Mr Khan proposed marriage to Ms Bushra Maneka, but Ms Maneka asked for time to make a final decision after consulting her family, including her children,” the statement from Imran’s political party explains.
