Ousted India cricketer Yuvraj Singh is currently working hard on his fitness to make a comeback into the Indian national team. The southpaw last played for India during the West Indies tour after Champions Trophy before he was dropped for the next two tours.

The 35-year-old recently tweeted to his fans not to burn crackers on this Diwali, he posted a video on his Twitter account in which the all-rounder said, last year on Diwali, the air we were breathing was devastating and we should not pollute it further this year.

Here’s Yuvraj’s Video message:

“Hello, everyone! A sincere request from my side to all of you. Please do not burn crackers this Diwali. Our country’s situation last year during Diwali was horrible, the air we were breathing was polluted and I couldn’t get out of my house due to all this chaos caused by the crackers. It’s very unhealthy and unnatural for our kids, friends, parents and everyone dear to us,” Yuvi said.

Yuvraj further went on to say, that it feels sad to see small kids wearing masks while going out because the air is so much polluted. The all-rounder also said that Diwali is a festival of lights and we can celebrate it just by lighting up Diya’s instead of crackers and spread love, peace, and happiness.

While air pollution is becoming a major issue in India in the recent past, we as citizens of this country are doing no good on our part to help the environment.

While one flamboyant Indian batsman is asking his fans for a cracker-free Diwali another one is asking his fans to have a blast on the festival of lights.

Former India batsman Virender Sehwag has urged his fans to celebrate the festival with extra “Dhoom-Dhaam”. Sehwag tweeted,

“RT if you will celebrate Diwali extra dhoom dhaam se.”

While both Indian stars seems to be on different paths, as how to celebrate this festival. I feel it is all up to an individual, how he wants to celebrate any festival in the country.
