Umesh Yadav Likely to Feature in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Team India fast bowler Umesh Yadav has started the season on a bright note. He took Indian Premier League (IPL) by a storm which eventually pushed selectors to pick him for England tour. However, Umesh couldn’t find his name in the Asia Cup 2018 squad. Meanwhile, he is likely to play in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Despite being selected for the One-day International series against England, the selection committee excluded him for the prestigious Asia Cup scheduled to kick off on September 15 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Well, Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) national selectors replaced Umesh with the newbie, Khaleel Ahmed after an impressive show in the domestic circuit.

The last competitive clash that Umesh played for India is in the first Test match at Edgbaston in Birmingham. He looked pretty ordinary with his bowling. And in actual, he never really attracted the team management to find the place in the remaining series.

All those poor performances led to his departure from the team in the limited-overs fold. However, the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy will help the fast bowler to return to the national fold.

Umesh Yadav joins Ajinkya Rahane:

Umesh is not only the international star to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, but also Virat Kohli’s deputy in Tests, Ajinkya Rahane is also gearing up for Mumbai to take part in the domestic trophy.

Possibly, both the individuals can find time for 3-4 matches before the start of the Windies tour to India 2018.

As per the reports, it is learnt that India will field young unit against Windies to rest regular players ahead of Australia tour.

In that case, Rahane and Umesh will get the ample chance to perform in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. All in all, a crucial phase of cricket is ahead for Umesh Yadav to make a comeback in the team.
