Unmukt Chand has probably seen enough highs and lows in his cricketing career than a cricketer have ever seen in his whole career.

In 2012, he led India Under19 to a title victory and even before he played the match-winning knock in the final, he had already made it to the India A team.

Chand was hailed as the future of Indian cricket and also made it to 30-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy.

However, with growing age, his performances came down and he lost his place in India A side.

To make it worse, he was also dropped from the Delhi squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016/17.

In the Ranji Trophy 2017/18 season, he played four Ranji Trophy games before making way for Kunal Chandela, who did well in the chances he got.

Soon, Unmukt found his lost form and after being dismissed on a duck in his comeback game in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he led Delhi to a little victory by scoring a half-century in the final.

Unmukt’s heroics earned him a place in Vijay Hazare Trophy squad but on the eve of the first game, he fractured his jaw after being hit by a ball.

This, though, could not jeopardize his appearance the tournament and he scored a gritty century the very next day.

Vijay Hazare Trophy has gone quite well for him and the Delhi opener has already decided to delay the jaw surgery so as to play competitive cricket.

Delhi is yet to qualify for the second round of the tournament.

The results of tomorrow’s game of Group B will decide Delhi’s future in the tournament.

If Delhi qualifies, he will play more competitive games while the season will finish for him.

During the summer when many of players will be paying IPL, Unmukt, just like last (2017) year, will keep himself busy.

He will be playing senior division cricket in Chennai, as reported by The Indian Express.

Last year, he went to England to play for Colne Cricket Club (CCC).

Once a regular member of IPL teams, Unmukt Chand, for the second running year, did not get a buyer in the IPL auction.

The 24-year-old cricketer Chand though has hopes for making it to the Indian team.
