Chennai Super Kings were given a slight setback in their chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 135 runs target as opener Ruturaj Gaikwad had to return back to the dugout following an unfortunate dismissal at the hands of Umran Malik.

Chasing 135 runs Chennai Super Kings had a stunning start to their innings with both Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway adding 60 runs in the power play.

The duo then continued to hammer at SRH’s total but suffered an unlucky end as Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed by Umran Malik as the bowler managed to get a hand on the ball off his own bowling at the non-striker’s end.

The final delivery from the 11th over saw Umran Malik bowl a full-length delivery on the full stumps as Devon Conway hit him for a straight drive which was too perfect as the ball hit Umran Malik’s hands before colliding with the stumps at the bowling end.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was already way out of his crease and had no chance of making it back to the crease as his innings and the partnership were brought to an end.

The setback of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s dismissal did not affect the Chennai Super Kings for long as Devon Conway continued to score runs from one end as he notched up 77 runs off 57 deliveries to help CSK win the game by 7 wickets with 8 balls to spare as the franchise bagged there fourth win in the tournament in their sixth fixture.
