Former England captain Joe Root, who was dismissed for 5 in the first innings of the third Test, looked in good touch in England’s second innings, while chasing the target.
Meanwhile, he played an outrageous reverse scoop on the last ball of the 22nd over of the innings, which was bowled by New Zealand left-arm pacer Neil Wagner.
The Kiwi left-arm pacer bowled a full-length delivery just outside off to Joe Root and the former England captain reverse scooped Wagner over the third man for a sensational six. Also, Root and Wagner exchanged friendly smiles after the boundary.

Talking about the third Test between New Zealand and England, the Black Caps scored 329 runs in their first innings with the help of Daryl Mitchell’s 3rd consecutive century and Tom Blundell’s half-century.
Also, the Kiwi bowlers performed brilliantly in the first half as they were able to dismiss 6 England batters, including star batters Joe Root and Ben Stokes, at the score of just 55.
After that, England made a remarkable comeback with the help of Jonny Bairstow and Jamie Overton’s phenomenal innings. They put up a 241-run stand for the seventh wicket and England were able to score 360 runs in their first innings.
New Zealand, in their second innings, scored 326 with the help of Kane Williamson, Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell’s good performances and they gave England 296 runs to chase.
