Delhi Capitals’ snaffled the crucial breakthrough of Suryakumar Yadav after the first time-out in the ongoing clash against the Mumbai Indians in Chennai. Avesh Khan delivered the wicket in his first over to end the threatening 29-ball 58 stand between Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma. Yadav could only edge it to the opposing captain Rishabh Pant behind the stumps.

Suryakumar Yadav, who was on 24 with four gleeful boundaries, could not last long as he wanted to guide the back of length delivery to third man. Instead, the 30-year old edged it to Pant behind the stumps as he took his second catch. Earlier, Quinton De Kock gave him a simple chance off Marcus Stoinis in the third over as the keeper-batsman could make only two runs.

In the clash from the last year’s finalists, Mumbai Indians elected to bat first. The defending champions left out pacer Adam Milne in favour of spin-bowler Jayant Yadav, while the Delhi Capitals carried out a couple of them. They swapped Shimron Hetmyer for Chris Woakes and Amit Mishra for Lukman Meriwala. Delhi Capitals have lost their last four matches against the Mumbai Indians and would hope to oust them this time around.
