New Zealand opening batsman Will Young grabbed an absolutely exceptional catch to dismiss South Africa’s Marco Jansen in the second Test match of the two-match Test series at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch.

Will Young grabbed the sensational catch off Colin de Grandhomme’s delivery in the 79th over of South Africa’s second innings of the match when the Proteas team had a great lead of 290 runs and they were at 219/7.

South African pacer Marco Jansen, who was facing Colin de Grandhomme, whipped the second ball of the 79th over in the air on the leg side and it was going away from Will Young who was standing at the deep mid-wicket.

The New Zealand fielder ran to his left, stretched his arms and plucked the ball out of thin air. After grabbing the ball he rolled over but he didn’t leave the ball and managed to complete the catch. The commentators were in disbelief after looking at Young’s one-handed stunner.

Meanwhile, the clip of the catch went viral on social media platforms and some labelled it as one of the greatest catches in the history of Test cricket.

Talking about the match, at the end of Day 4 of the second Test at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch, New Zealand National Cricket Team were at 94/4 with Devon Conway batting at 60* and wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Blundell at 1*.

New Zealand still have 332 runs to chase on the last day to win the series by 2-0. Notably, New Zealand had won the first Test match of the series in a dominant manner at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch by an innings and 276 runs.
