The fourth day of the 1st Test match between South Africa and Australia at Kingsmead, Durban, saw the visitors gallop towards taking a 1-nil lead in the four-match Test series.

Since the start of the Test match, there was only one team in the driving seat as South Africa only managed to play the catch-up game.

After being set a target of 417, the Australians put relentless pressure on the hosts with a couple of early wickets. The Kangaroos managed to see the back of Dean Elgar and Hashim Amla off a couple of beauties from Starc and Hazlewood.

With the South African wounds still fresh, David Warner applied salt to them with the run out of AB de Villiers. Proteas were tottering at 39-3 when their captain Faf du Plessis walked in with a huge responsibility on his shoulder.

One-Third of the celebrated pace trio of Australia, Pat Cummins, bowled an absolute peach of a delivery, in his very first over of his spell. The incoming delivery found the gap between the bat and pad of Du Plessis, which sent his off-stump cartwheeling.

Dismissal of South African captain Faf du Plessis proves to be the final nail of the Proteas coffin in the Durban Test match, with the scoreline at 49-4.

Since making his comeback into the Australians side last year against India at Ranchi after a five-year-long ouster, Pat Cummins has been unstoppable in international cricket.

Cummins lost five years of cricket while fighting with his list of injuries. After making an impressive comeback in India, Cummins went on to form the famous Australian pace trio Starc, Hazlewood and himself. The three terrorized the English during the recently concluded Ashes series.

This comes in as a matter of great relief for pace-bowling fans, to see Cummins feature regularly for Australian all around the globe without succumbing to injury.
