Watch: Rishabh Pant Hits A Scoop-flick Off Umesh Yadav's Delivery To Complete His Half-century In Style

Young India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant played an amazing scoop-flick shot off veteran pacer Umesh Yadav’s delivery in a warm-up match ahead of the England series to reach his half-century milestone in style.

The warm-up match between Rohit Sharma-led Indians and Sam Evans-led Leicestershire began on June 23 at the Grace Road, Leicester. Notably, Prasidh Krishna, Jasprit Bumrah, Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant are playing for Leicestershire in the warm-up game.

While batting first, the Rohit Sharma-led side were able to score 246 runs at the loss of 8 wickets before declaring the innings. Wicketkeeper-batsman Srikar Bharat top-scored for the Rohit Sharma-led side in the first innings as he scored 70 runs.

On Day 2 of the warm-up match, Rishabh Pant, who is known for playing a lot of unorthodox strokes, smashed a scoop-flick off Umesh Yadav’s delivery that went for a six.

He was batting at the score of 45 when Umesh bowled a length delivery just outside the leg stump and the young wicketkeeper-batsman bent down on one knee and flicked it for a six over long leg to reach his half-century milestone.

After reaching the half-century milestone, Pant showed his aggressive game and scored 25 runs off 9 deliveries by smashing some amazing boundaries to Umesh and Mohammed Siraj. During his innings, Pant had also smashed some incredible cover drives to veteran pacer Mohammed Shami.

Meanwhile, Pant’s innings ended at 76 runs as he was dismissed by left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja while trying to go for a six. Overall, Pant scored 76 runs off 87 balls, including 14 fours and 1 six.

Also, Pant top-scored for Leicestershire in the innings and they got bowled out for 244 runs.  After the ongoing warm-up match, the 5th and last Test match of the series between India and England, which was cancelled last year, will be played at the Edgbaston, Birmingham from Friday, July 1.
