Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018: Karanveer Kaushal Becomes the First Double Centurion of India's List A Cricket

Uttarakhand opening batsman Karanveer Kaushal was on fire in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018. Karanveer Kausal became the first double centurion of the List A cricket in the Indian domestic circuit. Kausal scored a blistering knock of 202 runs off just 135 balls while playing against Sikkim in the ongoing tournament.

Sikkim had won the toss and decided to bowl first against Uttrakhand. Therefore, Karanveer Kaushal was able to break the previous record held by India’s Test deputy Ajinkya Rahane.

Rahane had scored a fine knock of 187 runs for the Mumbai team while playing against Maharashtra in the season of 2007-08.

The right-handed batsman scored 18 boundaries and nine sixes in his quickfire knock. Meanwhile, Kausal was well supported by Vineet Saxena who also scored a century. However, Kausal’s opening partner, Saxena took a backseat as he took 133 balls to complete his hundred.

Meanwhile, Saurabh Chauhan and Vijay Jethi were able to provide the finishing touches to the Uttrakhand innings. Thus, Uttrakhand was able to put a gargantuan total of 366 for the loss of only two wickets in the allotted 50-overs.

Karanveer Kaushal would be proud of his performance. He was able to hit the ground running with his batting and batted in the topmost gear to smash Sikkim bowlers all around the park.

It was an outstanding performance from the right-hander and he would definitely become the cynosure of all eyes. In fact, he would like to keep performing in the same way to get more chances at this level. This performance must have done him a world of good and he would like to continue in the same fashion.
