Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar has said that he idolized former Indian batsman Rahul Dravid while growing up to become a cricketer. The former right-handed batsman rightly deserves the honour as he has been one of India’s greatest batsmen. He is also called the wall as he was famous for facing a hell lot of deliveries, especially in Test cricket. He is the batsman who has faced the most balls in international cricket.

Dravid was named one of the best five cricketers of the year by Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack in 2000 and received the Player of the Year and the Test Player of the Year awards at the inaugural ICC awards ceremony in 2004.
