Vikas Singh Claims Virender Sehwag is Backing Him in DDCA Election for Presidential Post

The election of Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) had an interesting turn of events as Vikas Singh, one of the candidates for the presidential position declared he has got the full support from former legendary Indian batsman Virender Sehwag.

Vikas said that Sehwag has “supported” his candidature against former Indian cricketer Madan Lal and renowned journalist Rajat Sharma.

“I had contacted Virender Sehwag and he has promised to support my candidature for the DDCA elections. Sehwag is currently out of the country but I have his support,” Vikas who is an advocate was quoted as saying by media.

However, Virender Sehwag hasn’t yet confirmed which party he will be supporting the president of the Supreme Court Bar Council.

A get-together followed. Some of the prominent cricketers who were present there included Surender Khanna. He will fight for the Cricket Director’s post along with Manoj Prabhakar and Ajay Sharma.

Moreover, Vikas said he doesn’t have any personal score to settle with Madan Lal and Ajay.

”I have a lot of respect for Madan and also for Sharma. I will not utter a word against them during my campaign. My problem is not with them but the people who are backing them,” Vikas said.

Vikas did not take any names but it was obvious that he was mentioning the likes of former sports minister, convenor and former president Sneh Bansal. He was the one who has put his younger brother Rakesh as the candidature for the post of vice president.

Meanwhile, the other target of Vikas is acting president CK Khanna. His wife will also fight for vice-presidential candidature.

”It is part of my mission to steer the DDCA towards professionalism, transparency, and excellence. First up, the aim is to bring in complete transparency in the selection of teams that represent Delhi. Sadly, at present merit and talent are forced to take a back seat at times,” Vikas maintained.

He alleged that his younger son was also a victim of dirty politics in DDCA. However, the latter missed the selection for the Under-14 team.
