Indian skipper Virat Kohli received words of appreciation while upholding the true spirit of the gentleman’s game as he walked off after getting stumped without waiting for the umpire’s decision.

Meanwhile, Kohli’s played a brilliant knock which was the highlight of India’s win at Trent Bridge on Thursday (June 12). He along with Rohit Sharma guided India to an eight-wicket win.

Previously, Kuldeep Yadav’s six-for bulldozed England’s innings to 268 runs after a brisk start. The young spinner returned with six for 25 in his quota of 10 overs.

One aspect of Kohli’s performance that caught the eye of many was his fantastic sportsmanship. The 29-year-old Indian skipper was stumped when he failed to pick up a wrong’un from leg-spinner Adil Rashid at the score of 75.

However, instead of waiting for the third umpire to make his decision, Virat Kohli, knowing that he was undone began to walk back towards the dressing room.

Well, this had a huge impression on the viewers from both the teams.

Despite this, the Indians ended up securing a rather impressive win. Rohit was the master of the chase this time around courtesy of some effortless batting. He reached his 18th ODI ton with relative ease.

The win witnesses visitors took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. The second ODI will be played at iconic Lord’s – the quintessential spiritual home of cricket.
