Virat Kohli Breaks Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag Record Of Most Double Tons

The Indian captain Virat Kohli became the first Indian batsman to score seven double centuries in the Test fold. In fact, Kohli has scored all his double centuries as the captain of the side. Kohli has overtaken former legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar and former opener Virender Sehwag. Both the former batsmen had scored six double centuries for India.

Meanwhile, former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid had scored five double centuries. Former captain Sunil Gavaskar had also scored four double centuries.

What a batsman!

On the other hand, Sir Donald Bradman had scored 12 double centuries which is the most for any batsman in the Test format. Former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara was hot on the heels of Sir Donald Bradman as he had scored 11 double tons.

Former West Indies southpaw batsman Brain Lara had scored nine double centuries. Ex-England batsman Wally Hammond had also scored seven double tons. Furthermore, former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene had also smashed seven double centuries.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli also completed his 7000 Test runs in the ongoing Test match. Moreover, Kohli has bettered his previous best score of 243 runs which he had scored against Sri Lanka.

The Indian captain scored a fine knock of 254 runs as India has declared the innings on 601-5. However, Kohli has had the rub of the green on his side as Senuran Muthuswamy was able to dismiss the right-hander on a no-ball.

On the other hand, Kohli had brought up his 26th Test hundred earlier in the day. Kohli has been super consistent in all the forms of the game and he would like to continue his good show going.

Kohli had added a gargantuan alliance of 178 runs with vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, who scored a fine knock of 59 runs. The Indian captain added 225 runs with Ravindra Jadeja.
