Twitter was flooded with birthday messages as India’s cricket superstar Virat Kohli turned 31 on Tuesday. Cricketers and fans from across the globe took to the social media platform to wish the birthday boy. There is absolutely no doubt that Virat Kohli is currently the most famous and arguably the best cricketer in the world right now.

The right-handed batsman is loved by millions across the world for his batting and attitude. Virat Kohli’s nevers-say-die attitude and superb batting has made him a worldwide phenomenon. While the likes of Steve Smith and Kane Williamson give him tough competition in Tests, what makes Kohli the best is his supremacy across formats.

Unsurprisingly, he was bombarded with birthday wishes on Tuesday. But Virat Kohli perhaps himself posted the best tweet on his birthday. The 31-year old took to Twitter to share a very emotional note written by his present self to a 15-year old Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli started the letter by wishing his younger self ‘a very happy birthday’.

He then proceeded by saying that while his younger self has a lot of questions about the future, he won’t reveal the answers. He asked his former self to live the journey and made it clear that it would be SUPER. Well, Kohli’s journey has been nothing less than phenomenal. The batsman is already regarded as one of the all-time greats.

He further wrote that there will be many who would love him while there would be also some who would hate him. He advised the younger Kohli not to care about the hate or criticism and keep believing in himself. Kohli, who lost his father when he was just 18-year old, also spoke about his father and it was really emotional.

The wiser and older Kohli advised his younger self not to feel bad about the gift he did not receive on the birthday and instead enjoy the precious time with his father and rest of the family.

“Tell dad you love him. A lot. Tell him today. Tell him tomorrow. Tell him more often,” wrote Kohli in the emotional note. In the end, Kohli concluded the letter by asking younger Kohli to make the most of his age and savour the parathas.
