India has been one of the dominant forces in Test cricket for quite a few years now. They were once again at their usual best securing a 318-run win in the first Test against West Indies at Antigua. Virat Kohli & Co will hope to keep their winning streak going and make a thumping start to the ICC World Test Championship when they face the host in the second and final match in the Test series at Kingston in Jamaica starting from August 30 (Friday). Kohli will also be heading towards a personal milestone during the final game of the tour.

The Asian Giants produced a clinical effort in Antigua to go 1-0 up in the series. The bowling was as usual upto the mark with Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma leading the pack from the front. While Bumrah clinched six wickets, Ishant returned with eight scalps. Ajinkya Rahane scored a fifty and century which lifted India’s middle-order as they set up a target of 419 runs before bowling out West Indies for mere 100 runs.

India will hope to secure another thumping victory in the second Test which gets underway from August 30. If they manage to do so, skipper Virat Kohli will break former India captain MS Dhoni’s record of most Test wins by an Indian skipper. Kohli equalled Dhoni’s record of 27 victories when the visitors defeated West Indies in the first Test.

Recently with the 318-run victory, Virat Kohli also went past Sourav Ganguly’s record of most away Test wins by an Indian skipper. Under Kohli’s leadership, India now have 12 wins to their names in comparison to Ganguly’s 11. MS Dhoni, on the other hand, has only six away wins to his name as a Test captain.
