Virat Kohli is the Greatest ODI Batsman to Have Played the Game: Michael Clarke

Former Australian Cricket team skipper Michael Clarke has hailed Indian National Cricket team skipper Virat Kohli saying him as the best ODI batsman to have played the game ever.

Meanwhile, Kohli is currently the no 1 batsman in Test and ODI format. Recently, he also became the first ever Indian skipper to win a Test series and a bilateral ODI series in Australia. Speaking on his achievements, Michael Clarke noted that Virat Kohli is the best batsman.

“To me, Virat Kohli is the greatest batsman to have ever played one-day cricket. I have no doubts after seeing what he has achieved for India,” Clarke told PTI.

The talismanic run-scorer has 10,385 runs in 219 ODIs with an astounding average of more than 59. He also has 39 ODI hundred to his name. Michael Clarke, an unbiased Virat Kohli fan noted that Indian skipper is the most passionate cricketer.

“You have to respect Virat’s passion to win games for his country. Yes, he has aggression but no one can question his commitment, how much he has achieved. He is the greatest in ODIs,” Clarke said.

Hardik Pandya would be crucial in England

In addition to, Michael Clarke also noted that suspended Hardik Pandya will be a vital cog for India in the upcoming ICC World Cup in England and Wales. Meanwhile, the talented all-rounder is currently out of action as BCCI have suspended for his controversial remarks on a talk show. However, his participation in the mega event is still in jeopardy with BCCI yet to decide on their punishment.

“A talented player like Hardik is very necessary for the balance of the side. He can win games alone with his batting and I am confident he will be in that World Cup squad,” Clarke sounded confident.
