Ever since making his Test debut, Jasprit Bumrah has been a star performer and has led the fast bowling attack. He was once again at his best in the recently concluded Test series against West Indies. Skipper Virat Kohli heaped praise on his star bowler calling him the most complete bowler in the world.

Bumrah took a break during the limited-overs series and made a stunning comeback in the Tests. He claimed a five-wicket haul in the second innings of the Antigua Test to announce his arrival in the Caribbean Islands.

The fast bowler from Gujarat backed it up with another six wickets in the next match including a hat-trick. Jasprit Bumrah became the third India after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan to claim a Test hat-trick. Bumrah, eventually, returned with 13 wickets including two five-wicket hauls.

Virat Kohli heaped praise on the young fast bowler. Speaking after the game, Kohli remembered the sight of witnessing the lethal spells from the slip cordon. He also added that they are lucky to have Bumrah in his side.

“There is not much you can say about Jasprit and the way he has been bowling. All we can say is that we are really lucky to have him in our team. Very rarely do you find a pack of bowlers who are hunting together, bowling for each other, bowling in partnerships,” Kohli said.

“When he (Bumrah) gets some kind of momentum then you can see what he can do with 5-6 overs with the new ball in the first innings. I haven’t seen many more lethal spells than that. Standing in slips, you feel for the batsmen,” he added.

Furthermore, Virat Kohli believes that Jasprit Bumrah is the most complete bowler in the world currently. The India skipper also added Bumrah has come out of the T20 bowler tag with his sheer hardwork and ethics. Bumrah has time and again credited Kohli for his success and recently said that he owes his hat-trick to the talismanic batsman.

“He confuses with his angles, swing and pace. I think he is the most complete bowler in world cricket right now,” Kohli said.

“It’s really pleasing to see a guy who was tagged a T20 specialist, he came and took over the ODI scene and now Test cricket. He is proving people wrong that there is a set template for every format,” Kohli concluded.
