Indian skipper Virat Kohli has surpassed the record of his predecessor, MS Dhoni. India’s win over Bangladesh by an innings and 46 runs is the seventh consecutive Test win for the team. Thus, it is the best ever winning streak for the Indian team under Virat Kohli.  MS Dhoni had led India to straight-six wins in the Test fold.

Dhoni had led India to six wins in a row in 2013 where the team had won four matches against Australia whereas the two wins had come against the West Indies. Meanwhile, out of these seven wins, the last four wins have been by an innings margin.

Hence, the Indian team has gone from strength to strength in the recent past under the leadership of Virat Kohli. This win of an innings and 46 runs is also the seventh for India in the ongoing ICC Test Championship. Thus, Virat Kohli-led side is at the top of the points table with 360 points under their belt.

India has been a dominant side and they would like to continue in a similar fashion. The Indian team is ticking the right boxes and they are a force to reckon with in the longest format of the game.

Virat Kohli also scored a fine knock of 136 runs which was his 27th Test century. The talisman batted at the top of his game and scored his 20th Test century as captain. Furthermore, Kohli got support from Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane who both half-centuries.

India will now next take on West Indies in three-match T20I and ODI series.
