With the war of words between Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag dominating the Indian cricketing circle in the last one week or so, the duo finally opened up on the much-talked about topic in the commentary box during the second One-Day International between India and Australia at Eden Gardens.

It all began when Virender Sehwag sensationally claimed that he was not considered for the coaching job because he ‘did not have any setting’ in the BCCI. The former India opener had also pointed fingers at India captain Virat Kohli’s stance in the whole affair.

“See, I didn’t have any setting,” Sehwag had told India TV. “When I was in England during the Champions Trophy, I had asked Ravi Shastri that why he hasn’t applied for the post? Shastri then told me that he will not repeat the mistake which he had already made once.”

“I also had a word with Virat Kohli, he asked me to go for it. It was only then that I applied. If you ask for my opinion, I would say that I was never interested,” he had added.

Media reports then suggested that Ganguly, who was a member of the Cricket Advisory Committee, had criticised Sehwag for the comment.

“I’ve got nothing to say. Sehwag spoke foolishly ,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by PTI.

Sehwag retaliated by posting a cryptic message on Twitter.

“Har kisi ko safai mat do, aap insaan ho, washing powder nahin ! (No need to make yourself clear to everyone, you are a human being not a washing powder),” he had tweeted.

Ganguly then pacified things by tweeting: “My quote on Sehwag completely false ..right quote ..Sehwag very dear to me .will speak to him soon..”

Well after so much drama, the duo finally came face to face while commentating in the second ODI. Sehwag started the topic, asking Ganguly about the tweet. In reply, the former India skipper retaliated by asking Sehwag what he meant by saying he was not considered for the coach’s post because he did not have any setting in BCCI.

Sehwag then made things clear by stating that his comment was a joke before praising Cricket Advisory Committee which has been selecting the head coaches from the last couple of years. The duo along with former teammate and another member of Cricket Advisory Committee VVS Laxman shared few light moments before Ganguly left the commentary box.
