Virender Sehwag To Deliver Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi Lecture

Former Team India opener Virender Sehwag will deliver the seventh Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi Lecture in Mumbai, on January 12. The President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly confirmed the news after getting a green signal from the former dashing opener.

The Board of Control started the Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi Memorial Lecture for Cricket in India (BCCI) on 6 February 2013. It was established to honour the former Indian captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, who died in 2011. The inaugural Lecture was delivered by former captain of the Indian cricket team Sunil Gavaskar on 20 February 2013, at the Taj Coromandel Hotel in Chennai. The BCCI indicated that the lecture would be an annual event.

Virender Sehwag to deliver 7th Mansoor Pataudi Lecture

Meanwhile, speculation rose that legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar would deliver the seventh lecture. But the Master Blaster has expressed that he won’t be able to attend the event as he will be travelling during that time. Finally, BCCI has finalised Virender Sehwag to grace the lecture by his thought. Sehwag has represented India in 104 Tests, 251 ODIs and 19 T20Is for India.

“Sehwag will be delivering the lecture,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief, Sourav Ganguly, confirmed to Sportstar on Thursday.

Virender Sehwag has also confirmed the news of the same. Reply to a text message, the Nawab of Nazafgarh said he has conveyed his availability to Sourav Ganguly. Previously, along with Sunil Gavaskar, Anil Kumble, V.V.S. Laxman, Rahul Dravid and Farokh Engineer and England’s Kevin Pietersen have delivered the lecture. BCCI’s award function will also take place on the same day.

“Yes, I have confirmed to Dada,” Sehwag replied to a text message.
