When it comes to wishing someone on birthday on social media, no one can beat Virender Sehwag.  Sehwag has carved out his own niche on the social media with his witty and funny remarks. It all began with his birthday wishes for his fellow cricketers. The uniqueness of those wishes make them different from the rest.

And on Sunday, the swashbuckling opener once again proved he is still the best in business. As former India skipper Ganguly turned 46, Sehwag wished him in his own style. Sehwag took to Instagram to wish ‘Dada’, writing:

“Step 1-Wake up, blink your eyes twice & dance down the track
Step 2-Smash the bowler & at times even spectators(no violence intended)
Step 3-Swing not only the ball but also ur hair, bowl ur heart out
Step 4-Celebrate like no one’s watching
To a wonderful man, #HappyBirthdayDada “

One of the greatest Indian skippers of all time, Ganguly had taken the command of the team in a very precarious position. Some of the biggest players of the team were caught in a spot-fixing scandal. But Ganguly soon changed the fortunes of the team with his remarkable leadership skills. Under his captaincy, the Indian team full of exciting youngsters became a force to reckon with.

Ganguly will be always remembered for his immense role in making the team believe that it can overseas and the team did. Under him, India registered a berth in the final of a Knockout tournament in 2000 and had won the same tournament a couple of years later, In 2003, the Ganguly-led team made it to the final of the World Cup. And although the Men in Blue lost that final against Australia, their fearless performances shaped up the future course of the Indian cricket.

In 2003-04 Border-Gavaskar series, Ganguly’s men had given the all-conquering Australian side a run for their money in their own backyard. He then sealed his status as one of the best Indian captains by leading the team to a historic Test series victory in Pakistan.

What made Ganguly even a better captain was the way he led the team from the front. The southpaw, who began his Test career with a century at the iconic Lord’s, ended his career with 7213 runs in 113 Tests and 11,363 runs in ODIs from 311 matches.
