VVS Laxman Strongly Believes Indian Cricket Will Prosper Under Sourav Ganguly

Perhaps, after a long time, we came across an election, which was way more unanimous. And, why not? when you got Sourav Ganguly in the list. The former Indian skipper has always received high accolades from every cricketing individual for his service to the Indian Cricket. Meanwhile, as Ganguly set to become BCCI President, he receives best wishes from his former teammate and dear friend, VVS Laxman.

Ganguly was instrumental in creating a new culture in Indian cricket and was responsible for a drastic change in the way India played Test cricket outside the sub-continent. He guided the team to the 2003 ICC World Cup final.

And also, Ganguly put faith in youngsters like Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Virender Sehwag, MS Dhoni and several others, who would go on to become superstars of Indian cricket. Now, he once again enters to take the role, which is becoming a problem of concern for Indian Cricket.

Meanwhile, the Very Very Special Batsman of India Laxman conveyed his best wishes to the former skipper of India. The flamboyant batsman quoted that he got a strong belief on Sourav Ganguly. Further, Laxman believes that he can do the job for the country.

Giving a look into his tweet, it read ”Congrats @SGanguly99 on becoming the President of @BCCI. I have got no doubt that under your leadership Indian Cricket will continue to prosper. Wishing you lots of success in your new role Dada.”

 

Ganguly pipped former India cricketer Brijesh Patel for the position. Earlier, Patel, who was backed by former BCCI president N Srinivasan, was expected to become the president. However, late drama saw Ganguly, backed by former BCCI President Anurag Thakur, get the post.

Ganguly, who played 113 Tests and 311 ODIs, filed his nominations papers for the post of BCCI president in Mumbai. The stylish southpaw is expected to be elected unanimously at the Board’s Annual General Meeting on October 23rd and he would start his job from October 24th.
