Watch: 35-Year Old Ross Taylor Takes One-Handed Stunner To Stun Ben Stokes

Age is just a number and New Zealand veteran Ross Taylor proved it once again on Friday by taking an absolute blinder in the ongoing first Test against New Zealand. The New Zealand star plucked one of the best catches of the year to deny Ben Stokes a century. The England allrounder was batting on 91 when he was stunned by Ross Taylor’s effort.
Tim Southee bowled one well outside off-stump and Stokes decided to go for a big shot. The left-handed batsman danced down the track in order to hit the ball over the fielders. However, all he could was to edge the ball towards the slip. But such was the speed and height of the ball that it initially looked the ball would sail over the sleep fielders.
But before the ball could pass Ross Taylor, he stuck his right hand out and plucked a stunning one-handed catch while being airborne. The ball was almost past the 35-year old when he managed to hang on. Stokes, on the other hand, looked shocked but had nothing to do as he went back silently towards the dressing room.
Here is a clip of that stunner from Ross Taylor:

England finish on 353:
England, meanwhile, finished their first innings on a decent total of 353. At 286 for 5, they were looking set to touch the 400-run mark but their lower-order failed to get going. The visitors kept losing wickets at regular intervals and lost their last five wickets for just 67 runs. Stokes top-scored for his side with 91 while Rory Burns (52) and Joe Denly (74) scored fifties too.
For New Zealand, Tim Southee was the most successful bowler with four wickets to his name. His fast-bowling partner Neil Wagner also picked up three wickets.
