MS Dhoni was batting on 99 when Abu Jayed came running on to bowl the first delivery of the 49th over. A single would have been enough to seal a confidence-boosting century. But the kind of player Dhoni is who loves to reach milestones with big hits, the former India skipper launched a huge six to send the fans wild.

Jayed bowled in the arc for the legendary batsman and paid the price for it. Dhoni cleared his front leg and heaved the ball straight down the ground for a maximum. And as soon as the ball landed into the stands, not only the fans but even India skipper Virat Kohli got excited. And as usual Kohli went overboard with his celebration as he seemingly hurled some abuses in Hindi to celebrate his predecessor’s ton.

As animated as it could get, Kohli just could not help but go wow over the six and the knock and praised the veteran’s ton in his own fashion. Meanwhile, along with Dhoni, KL Rahul also scored a century to help India post a mammoth total of 359 for 7. India’s openers – Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma – failed to get going again. Kohli got the start but just could not convert it again.

However, Rahul and Dhoni made the full use of last warm-up game. Dhoni came out all guns blazing and hit 8 fours and 6 sixes to bring up his 100 off 73 balls.

Here is a clip of that moment when Virat Kohli celebrated MS Dhoni’s century:

India are one of the favourites for the World Cup.  With a balanced team of bowlers, batsmen, and all-rounders, the Indian team has gone to England with a very formidable squad. The Men in Blue, however, had received a timely wake-up call after suffering a six-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the warm-up clash. However, they look set to win the ongoing game.
