Watch - Anrich Nortje And Ravindra Jadeja Engaged In Verbal Battle

Team India batters have produced another scintillating effort with the bat to post a massive first innings total against South Africa in Pune. The likes of Virat Kohli and Mayank Agarwal have kept the bowlers at bay other than a few outside chances. Among all, debutant Anrich Nortje looked to test the batters with short-pitch deliveries. As the game approached towards tea, Nortje and Ravindra Jadeja had a verbal tussle.

Resuming at 273 for three, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane saw off an opening burst from South Africa’s seamers before buckling down and extending India’s total. Kohli completed his 26th Test match hundred and his first of the year moments before the close of the second session while Rahane worked his way to a fighting fifty himself.

As a result, the visitors once again face the prospect of chasing another big first-innings total on this tour. Although they managed to scalp the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane thanks to Keshav Maharaj, there was no stopping Virat Kohli as his eyes were set on the 200-run mark before the players went for tea.

Meanwhile, moments before tea, the fans witnessed a heated argument between Anrich Nortje and Ravindra Jadeja. Nortje, who has been testing the batters with bouncers, once again bend his back a few overs the tea.

The ball reeled up after pitching as Jadeja was on the toes to evade the bouncer. However, things don’t end up there as Anrich Nortje gave a wild stare at the batsman before throwing up a few words to the batsmen. Ravindra Jadeja also gave back hurling a few words before both of them parted ways.
