With a new season ahead, Delhi Capitals will have a chance to end their woeful record in the Indian Premier League.  The Delhi-based franchise will be looking to put up a strong showing next season and improve their reputation. In eleven seasons, they progressed ahead of the league stage just thrice. They last made a play-off appearance way back in 2012. Since then, they have not managed to finish above sixth.

In fact, they are the one of the only three teams to have never won the IPL title and are the only team so far to not progress to the final. The upcoming season provides them with another chance to improve their woeful track record in the first eleven seasons of the league and the franchise is doing all it can to start afresh.

In this season’s auction, their most expensive buy was South African batsman Colin Ingram who was bought for a huge Rs 6.4 crores. Another big buy was India all-rounder Axar Patel, who was picked up for Rs 5 crores. They have also bolstered their pace attack by buying experienced Ishant Sharma for Rs 1.10 crore. Before the auction, they had bought Shikhar Dhawan from Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team also has the likes of Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer.

Unlike the previous jerseys which were dark blue in colour and had a good amount of red shed on them, the new jersey is dominated by sky blue. The quantity of red colour has also reduced substantially in the jersey.

The franchise had posted a tweet showing Rishabh Pant telling the fans to wait for the new jersey.

Later, they posted a clip where Pant could be seen wearing the new jersey while warning his senior India teammate MS Dhoni.

Later, they posted another tweet to unveil the jersey officially.

Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, will open their campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 24.
