Watch: Imran Tahir And Colin Munro Involved In Fiery Exchange After Latter Does His Trademark Celebration

Imran Tahir and Colin Munro were involved in a fiery exchange on Sunday when Islamabad United locked horns against Multan Sultans in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). The incident happened right after Imran Tahir dismissed Colin Munro in the fifth over of Islamabad United’s innings.

Munro miscued the shot and was caught by Sohail Tanvir. And as Tanvir caught the ball, Imran Tahir started doing his trademark celebration. With his arms extended, Imran Tahir ran wildly to celebrate with his teammates. However, Munro was not at all impressed with the leg-spinner’s actions and turned back to say a few things.

This is where things got out of control. Imran Tahir did not like Munro’s comments and turned back to say something to the New Zealand opener in an animated manner. The South Africa star was not done yet and celebrated even more wildly when he dismissed Shadab Khan later in the innings.

Here is a clip showing the fight between the two:

Later after the conclusion of the match, Munro opened up on the altercation and stated that he called Imran Tahir a clown for his celebration.

“I am tired of seeing him (Imran Tahir) celebrate like that and I called him a clown and he took it the wrong way and then you saw what he said to me, so we will leave it at that, eh?,” said Munro.

Meanwhile, Multan Sultans beat Islamabad United by nine wickets (DLS method) to become the first team to make it to the playoffs this season. The game was reduced to nine overs per side due to wet outfield. Asked to bat first, Islamabad United scored a competitive total of 91 for 7 in the allotted 9 overs.

But the score turned out to be too less in the end as Sultans chased down the total in less than 7 overs with James Vince slamming 61 not out from just 24 balls.
