Team India’s fast bowler, Ishant Sharma was seen practising in the nets, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took it on Twitter to give an update on his recovery. Despite none of their frontline bowlers playing in the team, India recently won the two-match Test series against the Windies convincingly.
Ishant Sharma set to return to the Test setup
However, Ishant Sharma injured himself during the five-match Test series against England and didn’t feature in two Tests against Windies as well. Now ahead of the Australia Tests, the lanky pacer seem to have returned from the injury scare.
However, Ishant Sharma had to leave the field during the final Test match against England at Kennington, Oval. He injured his left ankle and looked in utter despair. Meanwhile, he bowled just one over on day four, as it helped England build pressure and eventually win the series 4-1.
Moreover, Ishant Sharma had undergone a rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and seemed to have recovered from his injury. Earlier, he already had given an update on his official Twitter posing a picture of him in the gym.

However, the 30-year-old has a huge advantage of his height and has grown as a fast bowler over the years. He might be the weapon for India against Australia later this year. Although it is essential for the team that Ishant Sharma stays fully fit and bounce back before the tough tour.
Meanwhile, the lanky pacer has scalp 18 wickets on tour against England where he bowled brilliantly throughout the series. Also, he ended as the second highest wicket-taker after James Anderson.
“Look who is here. Say hello to
@ImIshant. His recovery is on track and he is progressing well.#TeamIndia” BCCI Tweeted.
