Watch: Kane Williamson Leaves Fakhar Zaman Shellshocked By Pulling Off An One-Handed Stunner

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson pulled off an absolute stunning catch in the second T20I against Pakistan on Friday.

With just 154 runs to defend, New Zealand desperately needed early wicket after Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman gave Pakistan a flying start. In just 4 overs, Pakistan had raced away to 35.  Fakhar had already hit 25 off just 14 balls and was looking dangerous. But before he could inflict further damage on the visitors, Kane Williamson took a gem of a catch to send him back.

On the fourth ball of the fifth over bowled by Adam Milne, Fakhar hit one in the air towards the mid-off. The bat had twisted in his hands as well as the opener had failed to get the elevation. But he was still looking safe before Williamson made a full length dive to his left side and held on to a stunning catch with just one hand. Babar Azam and Fakhar’s reaction said it all as they could barely believe their eyes.

Here is a clip of that catch from Kane Williamson:

Coming to the game, Pakistan beat New Zealand by six wickets to seal the series with a match to go. Batting first, New Zealand could only manage a modest total of 153 for 7. Colin Munro gave the team a flying start as New Zealand raced away to 50 inside 6 overs. Shaheen Afridi gave his side the first breakthrough by accounting for Glenn Phillips for 5.  Mohammad Hafeez then accounted for Munro to leave New Zealand reeling at 56 for 2.

From thereon, the Black Caps kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. And although Kane Williamson (37) and Corey Anderson (44) played handy knocks, they finished on 153.

In reply, Pakistan chased down the total with two balls remaining. The likes of Fakhar Zaman (25), Babar Azam (40), Asif Ali (38) and Mohammad Hafeez (34) played crucial knocks to take their side home.

An avid cricket lover, I just love this game more than anything. Writing about cricket keeps me closer to the game.
