Of late, we came across weird dismissals in the game of cricket. Here comes yet another such type of dismissal in the women game between New Zealand and Governor-General’s XI of Australia. The New Zealand batswoman Katie Perkins was unfortunate to be dismissed in that fashion when Katie Martin helped opposition get a wicket.

Well, going into the details, it was in the 45th over of the game when Graham was delivering her 7th over. Katie Perkins, who was fresh to enter the crease played a straight drive, which directly hits the bat of Katie Martins at the non-strike. Adding concerns to the batsman, the ball lobbed up in the air, which was pouched quite easily by Graham.

Katie Perkins was unfortunate:

The dismissal left the Australian fielders in surprise, The expressions of the fielders and the shout of “Oh My Goodness” from Alex Blackwell from behind the wickets sums up the story beautifully. The on-field umpires asked for the third umpire with the soft signal being out.

The third umpire confirmed the same as well. In between, Australians welcomed Katie Martin to join the celebration of the wicket, as she played a crucial role in giving wicket to Australia. All in all, it was a freakish dismissal, which would be tough to swallow for the young batswoman.

Coming to New Zealand women tour of Australia, the hosts have already bagged the series with 2 victories in 2 games. The first ODI game was a thriller when Australia won the game by 5 runs in defending 241. In 2nd ODI, it was Ellyse Perry, who put on a show with their willow.
