The way things had turned out between Virat Kohli and Kesrick Williams during the first T20I between India and West Indies, the cricketing world was eagerly awaiting round two of the duel. Kohli had given Williams a taste of his own medicine by doing his famous notebook celebration after dispatching him for a six in Hyderabad.

In the 13th over, Virat Kohli and Williams almost collided in the middle of the pitch, as the bowler went for the ball and the batsman went for a single. Furious with the incident, Kohli complained to the umpire immediately. Williams raised his hands in apology straightaway too but Kohli was in a different kind of mood.

The duel exploded in Williams’s next over – the 16th over – with India still needing 54 from 5 overs. Kohli and Rishabh Pant hit a six each as India collected 23 runs off the over. But more than the sixes, it was the Kohli’s reaction that took all the limelight. After hitting Williams for a six, Kohli brought out the notebook celebration as Williams looked on in amusement. Kohli later revealed that Williams had given him a send-off in 2017 after dismissing him during a T20I in Jamaica two years ago and thus he came up with the celebration.

Williams wins round two:

Well, Kesrick Williams won the second round of the duel on Sunday as he duel failed to live up to the expectations. Williams not only dismissed Virat Kohli but also gave him an interesting send off. The West Indies pacer dismissed the India skipper with a slower before coming up with an interesting gesture.

Instead of telling anything to Kohli, Williams asked his teammates to remain silent. William perhaps took a dig at Kohli for his actions in the last month which was a revenge for an incident that took place way back in 2017.

Here is a video of that incident:

An avid cricket lover, I just love this game more than anything. Writing about cricket keeps me closer to the game.
