Krishnappa Gowtham took the Deodhar Trophy finals by storm hitting 28 runs in one over at the JSCA International Complex Stadium in Ranchi. India B backed on his swashbuckling knock to post 283 runs after opting to bat first.

Meanwhile, Ishan Porel and Diwesh Pathania utilised the new ball really well for India C. And Axar Patel backed them up by some tight bowling. India B were only 92 for four at the halfway mark but a timely knock from Kedar Jadhav helped them post a challenging total on the scoreboard.

The tournament wasn’t going according to the plan so far for the middle-order batsman. But in the big final, Jadhav decided to step up his game and showed why he is been rated so highly by some of the finest cricket minds in the country.

He played a fine knock of 86 runs off 94 balls including four boundaries and sixes each to take India B out of danger. The Parthiv Patel-led side needed an impetus in the last few overs which came from Krishnappa Gowtham in the 49th over.

The all-rounder launched a carnage against Diwesh Pathania hitting a no-ball boundary in the second ball of the over. Krishnappa Gowtham backed it up with three more sixes and a four to shell 28 runs from the over to help India B finish on a high. Gowtham remained unbeaten on 35 runs from just 10 deliveries including three boundaries and sixes each.
