Left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has been a fascinating find for Team India. He has been superb in his brief One-day International career so far and has been a consistent wicket-taker in the limited opportunities he has got for the national team, so far.

Young spinner Kuldeep was quite spectacular in the opening T20I and bagged five wickets as the Men in Blue thrashed the home team.

Kuldeep went for a few runs in the second clash. He was dropped from the decider especially given the fact that Bristol had small-sized boundaries and he could have gone for runs.

The 23-year-old spinner was bound to be a trump card for the Men in Blue in the ODI format. Kuldeep proved why he is rated so highly after bagging his maiden five-wicket haul in ODI’s during the opening ODI against England at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Thursday (June 12).

With the way the wrist spinners have stood up for India, it looks that the place of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja is in jeopardy even in the longest format.

Kuldeep rips apart England:

After England got off to a solid start, it was Kuldeep, who spun a web around the English batsmen and bagged three wickets quick wickets.

From 72 for no loss, England was reduced to 81 for three. He was simply superb with his line and the English batters had severe problems while picking his variations. They were not judging his hand properly and hence misreading the line and length.

After four quick wickets in the middle, it was a good partnership between Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes which got England back on the track. Buttler continued his exceptional form with the bat and went onto smash yet another half-century.

Just when Buttler looked set to take England over the 200 mark, tragedy struck for the home team.

Dhoni’s catch

It was Kuldeep yet again who dismissed Buttler. It was flat delivery and Jos Buttler got a faint edge down the leg side. Catches down the leg side are always difficult.

However, when it is Mahendra Singh Dhoni, you expect him to take those catches. He completed a brilliant catch behind the stumps which halted England’s progress and prevented them from scoring more than 300 runs.
