With Aaron Finch scoring a century and along with Steve Smith sending the Indian team on a leather hunt, the spectators did not have much too cheer about in the ongoing third One-Day International at Chennai before Manish Pandey gave the much-needed moment to celebrate.

After Finch and Smith added 154 runs for the second wicket to lay the foundation for a good total, India clawed its way back into the game by taking three quick wickets and reducing the world champions from 242 for 2 to 260 for 5. But with just a couple of overs remaining, newcomer Peter Handscomb went for the aerial shot off Jasprit Bumrah. The right-handed batsman like many other in the ground must have thought he had done enough to clear Manish Pandey on the long-off boundary for a six.

However, Pandey had other ideas. The Karnataka star acrobatically caught the ball at full stretch above his head before his momentum took him over the rope. But just at the right moment, he threw the ball back up in the air before coming into the field play to take the brilliant catch.
