MS Dhoni losing his cool on the field is probably the last thing one can expect on a cricket field to happen. Over the years, we have seen Dhoni controlling his emotions on a cricket field better than anyone. It does not matter whether his team loses a game or wins the World Cup, Dhoni rarely lets the emotion get the better of him. However, on Saturday, MS Dhoni did lose his cool when he was leading Chennai Super Kings against Kings XI Punjab.
The fate of the match was hanging by thread. Super Kings needed to defend 38 runs from two overs. With a well Sarfaraz Khan and the dangerous David Miller in the middle, the game could have gone either way. And the way Deepak Chahar started the 19th over, it looked like the Kings XI would snatch victory from the jaws of defeat on the tough pitch. He started the over with two no balls.

Both the deliveries were bowled over waist and Sarfaraz hit the first for a four before hitting the second for a couple. An angry MS Dhoni then walked towards Chahar to give him an earful. The pacer looked absolutely perplexed while being schooled by Dhoni in the middle of the field. The scolding did the trick nonetheless as Chahar bowled brilliant from thereon and also dismissed Miller in the same over.

Super Kings went on to win the game by 22 runs. Speaking after the match, Dhoni said how important it was to dismiss Chris Gayle early and also thanked the fans.
“We had to get the Universe Boss OUT. If he gets going even 200 wouldn’t have been enough, Bhajji got us the wickets otherwise 160 was not enough. It was not a placid wicket but it became better in the second half. All three spinners did really well for us. Bhajji was really needed, over the years only off-spinners have troubled Chris Gayle.

“Crowd support us 100%, whenever chips are down they lift us. It really helps when the crowd is behind. They come not only for games but also for practise. The love and affection showed by them is amazing. It feels good to be on top of the points table but it is a constant process, only 5 to 6 matches have been played and we need to keep improving in all aspects,” added MS Dhoni.
