West Indies star Nicholas Pooran has been making the news for all the right reasons from the last few months. He impressed in the Indian Premier League, the World Cup and recently starred for West Indies in their win over Afghanistan in the second ODI in Lucknow. The left-handed batsman slammed 67 from just 50 balls as West Indies beat Afghanistan by 47 runs after scoring 247.

The win not only helped West Indies wrap up the three-match series but also helped them register their first ODI series win since 2014. Well, Nicholas Pooran now looks set to make it to the news for the reasons he would not have wanted. The West Indies star could land in hot waters if the video doing the rounds on net is investigated by ICC.

In the video, Nicholas Pooran could be seen scratching the ball in order to tamper its condition during the ongoing third ODI between West Indies and Afghanistan. The southpaw was rubbing the ball on the back of his thigh and used the opportunity to tamper with the ball. In the past, a number of players have used their finger nails to tamper with the ball.

The incident took place before the start of the 34th over which was bowled by Alzarri Joseph. The ICC is yet to release any statement on the incident:

Here is the video showing Nicholas Pooran’s activity:

Talking about the match, Afghanistan were 195 for 5 after the end of 45 overs.  The Asian side lost wickets at regular intervals which did not let them get the momentum. They were four down for just 74 before Asghar Afghan and Najibullah Zadran steadied the ship. But Zadran failed to make the most of the start and departed for 30. Afghan and Mohammad Nabi have since steadied the ship and are trying to propel the team to a good total.
