Watch Pic As Ranveer Singh Nails Kapil Dev's Look For Upcoming Film 83

Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh is looking destined to play the role of former India skipper Kapil Dev to perfect in the upcoming biopic ’83. He had previously impressed one and all with his first look poster and has now done it again by posting another look from the movie. The actor, on Monday, took to Twitter to post the picture in which he could be seen nailing one of Kapil’s most iconic shots – the Natraj shot.

Kabir Khan, the director of the movie also posted the same photo on Twitter and revealed that the shot was from a match which was never televised. Ranveer Singh looked like a carbon copy of Kapil after donning the surly hairdo with a moustache and team India’s white World Cup uniform.

“The match that was never televised… a world record innings that India never saw… this April the world will see how history was made on that cold windy day in Tunbridge Wells…” wrote Kabir Khan in his caption for the first still photo on Instagram.

The much-awaited movie aims at recreating India’s first World Cup win in 1983. India, led by the talismanic Kapil, had overcome all the odds to win the trophy. In the final, they had defeated the mighty West Indies while defending a modest 183 to create history. As per reports, the film will have some never before televised segments while also giving us a look into the famed cricketer’s personal life.

Apart from Ranveer Singh, the other stars in the movie are his wife Deepika Padukone, Chirag Patil, Hardy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi, Sartaj Singh, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Jiva. The film will hit theatres on April 10, 2020.

Biopics on cricketers’ lives have been a big hit in Bollywood in recent years. In the last few years, the fans have seen movies made on the lives of Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Mohammad Azharuddin.
