Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the important stakeholders for Team India in red-ball cricket. Ashwin claimed five wickets beside Mohammed Shami’s seven-wicket haul to rout the visitors within three days of the Test match. In the process, Ravichandran Ashwin became the joint-fastest with Muttiah Muralitharanto 250 Test wickets at home, getting there only in 42 matches. Last month, Ashwin became the joint-fastest to take 350 wickets, matching Muralitharan’s feat in his 66th Test.

Ravichandran Ashwin goes left-handed

Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu-born cricketer recently went viral on social media after batting left-handed during one of the training session during the first Test against Bangladesh. The fans took that opportunity to troll wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who has been in the firing line following his poor outings in limited-overs cricket. Pant has failed to live upto the expectations following India’s ouster from the ICC World Cup.

And now, Ravichandran Ashwin has once again hogged the limelight by going left-handed. This time he went left-handed to imitate former Sri Lanka all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya’s bowling action. India have decided to remain in Indore to train under the lights for the pink ball Tests and during one of those sessions, Ashwin was seen rolling his hands. The cricketer looked comfortably while bowling left-handed which earned praise from all across the globe.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who made a return to the side after almost nine months during the South Africa series, will hope to keep up his good work in the next match. The final Test match of the series will be a historic day-night encounter at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata starting from November 22. India will be keen for another whitewash which will be their third in a row after West Indies and South Africa.

Ashwin joins the fun himself

As the speculations escalated, Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to share a better quality video of him copy former Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya’s bowling action.
