Watch: Ravindra Jadeja Dismisses Angelo Mathews On A No-Ball

Nothing much is going right for Sri Lanka in the ongoing Test at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla. The Islanders are not only finding it tough to compete with world number one side India but are also finding it tough to stay on the field in the polluted air of Delhi. Well, as if all these were not enough, umpire Joel Wilson’s failure to spot a no-ball in the fifth session which cost the huge wicket of Angelo Mathews further rubbed salts on their wounds.

Resuming the day on 31 for 3 in pursuit of an improbable 410, Sri Lanka would have hoped that their overnight batsmen Angelo Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva would give them a solid start. However, their hopes lasted for just over 5 overs before Jadeja had Mathews caught at slip. The left-arm spinner bowled a tossed up delivery just outside the off which Mathews tried to defend. However,  the awkward bound and little turn did not allow Mathews to middle the ball and as a result he ended up edging it to Rahane in slips. Everything seemed fine till then before replays showed that the Indian spinner had overstepped. The umpire not only failed to spot the no-ball but did not even stop the batsman and referred it to the third umpire.
