Team India have extended their lead over 200 to take a firm grip in the first Test against South Africa in Visakhapatnam. Rohit Sharma once again led India’s batting alongside Cheteshwar Pujara, who announced his arrival to form with a fluent knock.

Ravichandran Ashwin was in his element as returned with a seven-wicket haul to help the host secure a valuable 71-run lead. He was out of action for almost 12 months before he returned against South Africa to lead the spin department.

However, a miscommunication between Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara caused the former curse the Saurashtra batsman. After Rohit defended a delivery, both the players went for a run but then opted against it, that saw Rohit getting frustrated. He went on to curse Pujara which was audible on the stump mic.

Rohit along with Cheteshwar Pujara led India’s batting as they crossed the 200-run lead. Both Rohit and Pujara registered their individual fifties and are looking to good total before declaring the innings to bowl South Africa out in the fourth innings.
