While the second One-Day International between India and Sri Lanka was all about Rohit Sharma’s stunning double century, a couple of romantic moments between the stand-in skipper and his wife Ritika Sajdeh stole the show during the game. The couple was celebrating its second wedding anniversary, and it is safe to say that Ritika could not have asked for a better gift from her husband.

Rohit was under pressure going into the game as he along with the whole team had flopped in the series-opener at Dharamsala and the stand-in skipper needed to lead from the front in the do-or-die clash. Not surprisingly, Ritika was also looking increasingly nervous as the camera kept panning towards. But that nervousness soon dispelled when Rohit found his groove and blew away the visitors.

The right-handed began his knock cautiously, taking 65 balls to reach his half-century. His century came at a faster pace, and as soon as he reached the mark, he kissed his ring finger while looking towards his wife to dedicate the knock to her.

But the best was yet to come as the India opener launched a stunning assault in the final ten overs. After completing his 16th ODI century by the end of the 40th, he shifted gears to thump 107 more off his final 37 balls. The stunning knock was studded with 12 sixes and 13 fours. The camera soon shifted towards Ritika, and she could not control her emotions.

The couple would have liked to spend some together on a special day but they could not due to obvious reasons. However, after leading India to a thumping 141-run win, Rohit made sure to make his wife’s day as he was pictured spending some cosy moments with here.

Here are few pictures showing the couple enjoying some time together after the game:

Rohit, meanwhile, had also dedicated his knock to his wife.

“I am sure she would have liked this gift from me. She is my strength and keeps supporting me. This is one good part about having your family around, we already go through a lot of stress and it makes our lives easier,” Rohit had said after the game.
