S Sreesanth recently talked about the incident which took place in the inaugural IPL when Harbhajan Singh had infamously slapped him.

The career of former India pacer S Sreesanth perhaps witnessed more twists and turns than a typical Hollywood thriller. From guiding India to some famous wins, controversies, sledging, altercations to the fixing-scandal, he saw it all.

Well, one of the most infamous incidents of his life took place in 2008. In the inaugural edition of the IPL, spinner Harbhajan Singh had reportedly slapped him.  Sreesanth, playing for Kings XI Punjab at that time, and Harbhajan competing for the Mumbai Indians, faced off after the game, an incident that left the pacer in tears. Harbhajan was banned for the rest of the tournament, while Sreesanth was let off with a warning after disciplinary proceedings.

In 2013, he had tweeted about the incident, writing:

“I want the world to c it..Whn I went to shake hands after the match..he had lost it..he had already planned to hit me(elbow me)all his anger (sic).”

And now he has once again opened up about the incident. Currently a participant in reality show Big Boss, the former India pacer claimed that Harbhajan had tried to hit him with all his force and not only slap him.

Here is a clip showing Sreesanth opening about the incident:

Sreesanth’s career, meanwhile, is all but over now.  He along with Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan received life ban by the BCCI’s disciplinary committee in September 2013 for the fixing scandal in IPL. Later, he was cleared of all charges by a Delhi trial court in 2015 due to insufficient evidence under the MCOCA act; a special law passed by the Maharashtra state government to tackle organised crime syndicates and terrorism.

Last year, he had received an offer from a Scottish club. However, the BCCI did not give him the NOC. Time and again, Sreesanth has expressed his resentment over the treatment he gets from the BCCI.
