Steve Smith has been unstoppable in the ongoing Ashes, be it with the bat or in the field.  After swashbuckling outings with the bat, Smith stunned the world with a stunning catch to dismiss Chris Woakes in the third day of the fifth Test at the Oval.

Trailing 2-1 in the series, England are currently poised well in the match with a lead of 382 runs and two wickets still in hand. Rory Burns and Joe Denly got the host off to a great start in the second innings. Denly looked in fine touch as they posted 54 runs for the first wicket.

Joe Root also looked but will curse himself for not converting the start. Ben Stokes played a valiant knock of 67 runs alongside Denly to keep the scoreboard ticking. Jos Buttler also put in some useful contributions as England extended the lead to take a firm grip in the match.

But a few quick wickets down the order helped Australia made a slight comeback in the match thanks to Steve Smith’s fine catch in the slip cordon. He flew on his right to take a one-handed catch and man oh man, he cannot make any mistakes.

It was a length delivery which forces Woakes into the drive. The English all-rounder gets a thickish edge for the ball to fly away. Smith at second slip flung himself to his right and plucked that out of thin air.
