SuryaKumar Yadav displayed an ultimate act of selflessness in the summit clash of the 2020 IPL against the Delhi Capitals as he sacrificed his wicket following a horrible mix-up between him and his skipper Rohit Sharma.

It all happened on the 5th ball of the 11th over when Rohit Sharma, after having punched Ravichandran Ashwin off the backfoot took off for a non-existent single.

By the time, SuryaKumar Yadav could respond, Rohit was already close to him at the non-striker’s end. Yadav could have stood his ground paving the way for Rohit to get run-out, but given the way the latter was batting, he decided to sacrifice himself for the team’s cause.

Yadav once again looked in imperious touch today but Mumbai Indians run-chase has really been about Rohit Sharma.

Coming into this game on the back of the poor form, Rohit Sharma looked in his elements right from the outset in the summit clash.

His trademark pulls were a sight to behold as he stamped his authority on the contest. Post Surya’s dismissal, Rohit Sharma, en-route to his 50, smashed Kagiso Rabada for two boundaries and at the time of writing, the ‘Hitman’ was in complete control of the proceedings with the score reading 2-113 after 13.1 overs.
