Virat Kohli had a rare failure with the bat in the ongoing tour of South Africa. The India skipper was out for just 26 in the ongoing first T20 International against the Proteas in Johannesburg.

The 29-year old looked primed to compile another big score after Farhaan Behardien dropped him at long-on. Kohli was batting on just ten off 11 balls at that time.

In the next nine balls, he hammered 16 of them to make the hosts realise the huge mistake they had committed by dropping him. However, the dropped catch did not turn out to be costly for the hosts, as Tabraiz Shamsi dismissed the in-form batsman for 26.

After Shamsi’s delivery hit Kohli on his pads, the on-field umpire also took his time before raising his finger. Kohli was beaten for the length, and the ball turned just a bit more than he expected. The India skipper did not waste any time in reviewing the decision, but it did not make any difference.  The HawkEye showed three reds and  Kohli had to walk back.

Here is a clip of that wicket:

Meanwhile, India were off to a brilliant start. The Men in Blue were 110 for 3 in the first ten overs. Rohit Sharma scored 21 off just 9 while comeback man Suresh Raina managed just 15.
