In a recent interview, Virat Kohli had made it clear how highly he regards his predecessor Mahendra Singh Dhoni and how he never shies away from taking advise from the former India skipper despite being in charge of the team for quite some time now.
“I don’t think I have across a better cricketing brain, just in terms of planning and knowing what’s happening in the game and what can be done,” Kohli had said on Breakfast with Champions.
“Sometimes I like to follow my own instinct as well but whenever I ask him anything, 8 out of 10 times or 9 out of 10 times, he always tells you the thing that work. So it’s a blessing to have him,” he had added.
Well, Dhoni has been seen heavily involved in all the decision makings even though he stepped down as captain earlier this year and the World Cup-winning skipper was once again seen playing a vital role in the thrilling third T20I against New Zealand on Wednesday (November 7).
With Virat Kohli fielding on long off in the final over when Hardik Pandya was defending 19 runs, Dhoni took the onus on himself to lead the side. In fact, looking at the way Dhoni was altering the field and thinking about his moves, one can only think that has he really stepped down from the post.

Meanwhile, India went on to defend 67 runs in 8 overs to win the final T20I and seal the series. Batting first, the Men in Blue scored 67 for 5 before restricting the visitors to 61 for 6.
