Team India wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha has been at his best in the second Test against South Africa in Pune. After a Superman-like catch to dismiss Theunis de Bruyn, Saha grabbed another one to break the good looking partnership between Faf du Plessis and Dean Elgar.

India enforced a follow-on on the visitors and Ishant Sharma struck early to send Aiden Markram back. Dean Elgar and de Bruyn look to stitch a partnership to bail the Proteas out of danger but a moment of brilliance from Saha – jumping on his left halted the innings.

South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis played the masterstroke promoting himself up the order. He along with Elgar – most successful batsman of this tour for the Proteas looked to take their side to a good total. The pair added 49 runs for the third wicket before Wriddhiman Saha once again joined the party to help India get a breakthrough.

Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a quicker delivery outside off at 90.8kph and du Plessis pressed across to block. The ball dipped and turned off the wicket and took the slightest of edges on the inside part and brushed the thigh pad.

Saha stayed low to gather it. Didn’t collect it in three attempts, kept juggling and in the end gobbled it with a forward dive. Wriddhiman Saha showed superb reflexes and undoubtedly is the best wicket-keeper in the business currently. Ashwin has dismissed du Plessis for the third time this series.

The Team India off-spinner then removed Dean Elgar in quick succession to help India take one step closer to the victory and pocket the series 2-0 with one match still to play.
