Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has had a mixed debut in the Global T20 Canada alongside his side Toronto Nationals who have won one and lost one so far in the competition. After a thrilling win over Edmonton Royals, Toronto skipper Yuvraj Singh made fun of all-rounder Ben Cutting during an interview with the latter’s fiancee Eric Holland.

Yuvraj bounces back in Global T20 Canada

Batting first, Royals banked on some contributions from the lower order to post a massive total of 191 runs in their 20 overs. Skipper Faf du Plessis gave the early impetus before Ben Cutting, and Shadab Khan murdered the Toronto bowling. They added 65 runs in no time to take the score almost close to the 200-run mark. Cutting remained unbeaten on 43 runs off just 24 deliveries including one four and four sixes while Shadab chipped in with a 17-ball 36 runs knock. Yuvraj Singh tried many options, but only Chris Green could get him wickets while others went for plenty.

During the chase, Toronto Nationals got off to the worst possible start losing both the openers within the first four overs. But Heinrich Klaasen and Yuvraj Singh bailed them out of danger with a 56-run partnership for the third wicket. Yuvraj got out scoring 35 runs as Edmonton Royals bounced back with back-to-back wickets, but a blinder from fast bowler Manpreet Gony helped Toronto clinch an exciting win with two wickets to spare. The former India cricketer contributed 33 off just 12 deliveries to set the stage for the victory before Mark Montfort, and Salman Nazar took them home.

Yuvraj Singh, who got out in a bizarre fashion in the first match, entertained the fans during his 35-run innings. Ben Cutting eventually got the better of him to cut short Yuvraj’s stay at the crease. In the post-match presentation, Cutting’s girlfriend Eric Holland asked Yuvraj about the dismissal who yet again came up with a hilarious response.

“Someone really annoying called Ben Cutting got you out,” asked Holland, to which Yuvraj responded, “Yeah, who is that guy do you know him?.” “No idea,” said Holland, “ruined the party,” she added.
